Designing Spaces

This project was completed my freshman year in the Interior Design program in our studio class. The purpose of this project was to create an abstract model to show monumental, intermediate, and personal space in an aestetically pleasing way. The model is made entirely by hand using bristol board, and matte board. The rectangular object in the front of the model is to represent human scale, at 1/4" = 1' - 0".

Space is a core principle of the elements of design, which is shown in this project through positive and negative space. The elements and principles of design can be seen throughout the model with examples such as balance and harmony, line, proportion and scale, and rhythm. This set up a foundation early on in my time studying interior design because it teaches the core principles and elements of design early on to assure a full understanding.
